Project Overview

The objective was to transform a facilitator-led methodology into a lightweight, on-demand mobile experience. The product needed to work instantly, without onboarding or setup, while protecting intellectual property and supporting real-world use during meetings, workshops, and live discussions.

HBOX partnered with Starting Points to design and build a minimalist application centered around one powerful outcome: delivering a thought-provoking, high-impact question at the tap of a button. The objective was not to add complexity, but to distill an intellectual consulting framework into its most essential and usable form. The experience was intentionally stripped of friction, ensuring users could access immediate value without accounts, onboarding flows, menus, or unnecessary navigation.

The design process focused on translating a facilitator-led methodology into a self-serve digital tool that maintained its depth and integrity. Every interaction was carefully considered to preserve the intent behind the questions while simplifying the delivery mechanism. The result is a product that feels effortless yet meaningful, allowing teams and leaders to engage with the content instantly during real conversations.

The app was built using an offline-first approach to ensure reliability in boardrooms, workshops, and training sessions regardless of internet connectivity. Performance, clarity, and content protection were treated as foundational priorities. Every design and technical decision reinforced speed, stability, and intellectual property control, enabling the consultancy to scale its expertise without diluting its value.

Challenges

Starting Points in-person delivery model limited scalability and made growth dependent on workshop availability. Teams lacked a way to access the methodology on demand during real conversations, reducing its everyday usefulness.

Distributing questions through static PDFs also introduced intellectual property risks. Content updates were difficult to manage, and exclusivity was hard to maintain without a controlled digital environment.
